AQUAGOLD® microneedling is performed with a microneedling device that has a glass vial attached directly to hollow microneedles. Is There Any Pain or Downtime Associated with IPL Treatments?
Discomfort from IPL treatments is reduced with a numbing cream during treatment of pigmentation and hair removal, and by pre-cooling the skin when treating “broken capillaries” and redness. Once your IPL treatment is complete, you will be able to return to your normal schedule with little to no downtime. You may experience some swelling and redness, but this should fade soon as your skin continues to heal.

How is dermaplaning performed?
Dermaplaning, sometimes referred to as blading, utilizes a surgical scalpel to gently shave the surface of the face. The sterile blade is gently brushed over the skin in light, even motions. This technique eliminates the upper-most layer of dead skin cells, as well as any peach fuzz (vellus hairs) that can trap oil and dirt.
Treatment sessions typically last about 30 minutes and multiple sessions may be recommended to maximize results. Pain and discomfort are very minimal so no anesthesia is needed. However, a topical anesthetic cream can be applied to the skin prior to treatment to ensure a comfortable experience.
What are the benefits of dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning comfortably exfoliates the surface of the face to reveal fresher and healthier-looking skin. The blade removes dry, dead skin cells which helps to improve the appearance of common concerns such as acne scars, fine wrinkles, and hyperpigmentation.
In addition, topical facial products (such as the skincare products you use daily) will be better absorbed and increasingly effective. Many patients notice that makeup also goes on more evenly. How long is recovery after dermaplaning?
There is usually no downtime or recovery period after a dermaplaning treatment. Since this procedure is non-surgical and non-invasive, most of Dr. Diwan’s patients feel comfortable returning to work or daily activities shortly after their procedure. Some redness and inflammation may occur and the skin may be more sensitive to sunlight and skin care products for a few days following treatment. Dermaplaning often poses no serious side effects.
