Restylane is a non-animal derived, FDA-approved product. Restylane contains Hyaluronic Acid which is one of the normal components of skin.

It is injected into the skin to fill out surface depressions such as wrinkles and depressed acne scars. An important advantage is that the improvement obtained with Restylane is expected to last 6 to 12 months. This means greater convenience with less frequent office visits.  Another useful feature of Restylane is that there is no need for allergy testing because it is not an animal-derived product.
