Sagging of the skin on the face is primarily a result of loss of elasticity and effect of gravity pulling down on the tissues over time. A facelift helps to correct facial sagging by lifting the tissue upward. Over time many versions of facelifts have been developed in an effort to provide better and longer lasting results albeit with more complications and more prolonged recovery. As a result of unnatural results and complications, the more invasive techniques are now less popular. For patients wanting natural results, safer surgery and quicker recovery, newer techniques such as the mini lift or MACS lift are better. This kind of facelift can be performed, for healthy patients, without the risks of general anesthesia (with local anesthetic) in our AAAHC accredited office with excellent results. The procedure is completed in a shorter time and with quicker recovery, some patients returning to work in three days. We counsel our patients thoroughly on how to maintain their more youthful look longer. | |||||
